- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆April 05, 2019, by alex isaacsI bought a top of the line Kenmore ( Elite) about a year ago but as we were working on our new house didn't use it until about 9 months ago. It is a newer model and I paid something like 900 dollars. From the very beginning it didn't freeze hard but the frig part did Ok. We finally got a service man in and he told us it had a serious "sealed system" problem. Needs 1000 to fix! I have no proof but expect Hampton knew something as When I looked in the back of the unit I noticed it had new duct tape and mismatched screws. Someone has been working on it. I will never shop there again and I would advise everyone else the same.
